How to turn pages in iBooks using single switch and iOS switch control

recorded by Christopher Hills

This video shows how easy it is to turn pages in iBooks using "iOS Switch Control" and as little as a single switch connected by bluetooth to the device through the Tecla Shield switch interface

If using a single switch, you'll need to enable the "auto-scanning" function in iOS.  The switch is set up to perform the 'Select Item' function in the Switch Control preferences.

In iBooks, you then wait for the auto scanner to reach the bottom of the screen and press the switch once. The Scanner Menu will automatically appear. From there, you can use the 'Decrement' button, to turn the page forward; or 'Increment', to go back. This should work with any single switch setup!

For users that can use a joystick, functions exist to allow holding the joystick to the left or right to advance pages back and forth.  If you are interested, drop us a live chat to discuss how to do that!

Page turners are quite $$$. You turn digital pages for a fraction of the cost with the Tecla Shield or tecla-e.
